Jules Winnfield's interrogation of Brett seems controlled at first, but before you even know it, he tips into the explosive.

Beatrice Kiddo's unrelenting fury is juxtaposed against the serenity of the Japanese rock gardens scattered through the House of Blue Leaves.


The oozing purples and pinks take from lava lamps and his mesmerizing diction but there is danger in his words. The popping greens are the catalyst to setting this composition off as even an innocuous word like 'what' can set Jules off.

Violence plays out against stable grids and the composed lines of the Japanese rock gardens. The electrifying slashes that make their way across the poster were a nod to visual sound effects in action manga, in particular, the clanging of sword on sword.
